98 Explore - check engine - code P442

I pulled the code after the CEL came on and it was P442. What does this code mean? The engine is 4.0L.

I found PO442 on another web site. It says the code is "Leak in Evaporative System Detected". How do I fix it?

The most common cause is a leaky gas filler cap. Try rubbing some grease on the seal. If that dosen't help, then replace the cap.

There are other causes of this code, but the fuel filler cap is usually the culprit and the first place to start.
