Hi all, I would have posted in the 3.7 forum, but that thing has like zero traffic.
My daughter has an MKS with the 3.7 n/a. It has always run very well, we actually drag raced it shortly after she got her license (which she loved BTW). Anyway a few days ago, going down the hwy it went to idle, no throttle response, a wrench illuminated on the dash. After pulling over in front of a prison(oh yea, she got their attention, lol), she called and I suggested she "cycle the power" ; turn off, start back up, and it was fine after. My friend who is also a mechanic scanned it and got nothing; disgustingly healthy. He then said it's the throttle body. I refuse to throw parts at things like this and he knows it, and still insisted. Reluctantly I had him replace it and the damn thing screams now; never ran this good. Bought with 50K miles, now has 100K and it never thought of running this well the whole time.
Just throwing that out there, perhaps someone can benefit.
My wifes 2016 3.7 Explorer/Interceptor (Police Package) did the same thing. I cleaned the throttle body & replaced the air filter. Runs great. Happened at 41000 miles.
