1996 Ranger 2 wheel drive with 1999 Mercury Mountaineer donor engine, tranny,, wire harness and ECM, Finally found someone to remove PATS from original ECM. Truck had been a lot of fun and running pretty strong.
It has been raining here for several days so I used a 4X4 on Friday and Saturday(going in and out of fields). The truck only went next door on Sunday, I live in a rural area
. Monday I took off to drive approximately 25 miles one way and she started running rough and not shifting out of second.Stored codes using a "Bluedriver were MANY!
I cleared codes and drove it home, same symptoms.
I used my Autoenginuity at home and ran KOEO and KOER
All codes add up to 13? P1747, P0750, P0755, P0743, P0443, P0453.
P1747, P0750, P0743 and KOER are: P0135, P0155, P0460
I have checked for loose connections at battery, ECM, alternator and grounds. I checked the coil packs and they were good. I removed each cylinder one at a time and there was a noticeable change.
I checked unplugging MAF sensor and there was a change in idle. I checked fuel pressure at Schrader valve and it was 63 psi for a '99 Merc 5.0 (donor vehicle). Voltage was 14.8 right after starting and tapered off to 14.68 within a few minutes.
I unplugged the Cam Position Sensor and no noticeable change of idle or when revving it a little.
Not sure what to check next but is this a bad CPS?
