Tire pressures???

New here but whenever google something this forum always pops up so figured why not just join.

So I have a 2015 F350 SRW and trying to figure out best tire psi to run for best quality of ride.

Just recently got 35x12.5x18 Toyo AT3 with an “F” rating so I can run up to 80psi if needed. I would like to know what recommendations you have for an F rated tire unloaded? I would prefer not to have to stare at the tire light all the time but if need be I might be able to over look that.

THANKS

Are you sure it's load range F? LR F tires are rated to 95 psi. Load range E tires are rated plenty high enough for the GAWR of these axles.

My door tag says 55 psi front 70 psi rear. I run 60 psi front 70 psi rear based on my tire wear patterns in the front.

If what you are looking for is a smoother ride, air down. Quite a few of us run 50 psi.

Positive they are load range F. Just got them week or so ago. Tire size has something to do with it too. Certain brands u can’t get 80 psi rating in a 35x12.5 but u can get 80 psi rating In a 285/75 or 295/70

Welcome to the Forum.

If you truly bought F rated tires prepare for a ROUGH ride, as mentioned E rated tires are more than enough tire for these trucks. Go to a parking lot, bring some sidewalk chalk, run several perpendicular lines across ALL the tires, then drive STRAIGHT for about a block. Check the chalk wear pattern. If the chalk wears off the center your pressure is too high as an example.
You want to play with the pressure until you get an even wear pattern across the tread of the tires. I seriously suggest switching the tires to Load E before you put any miles on them.

‘I run 75psi on the front and 55 in the Duals on the back...

Well how do I get around that stupid tmps light? Ford calls for 80 psi in the rear and once I drop below 67 back there light comes on.

And I can’t get a Toyo AT3 in a 35x12.5 with 80 psi rating. As high as they go is 65 psi rating

Download Forscan onto a Windows based laptop (I'm a Mac guy and that caused me problems lol). Make adjustments (look this up on Youtube). Not hard.

‘Well, is there a designated fuse for the TPMS? Worst case, you learn to deal with it.

You can use a Forscan to reset your TPMS to whatever you want, you can follow this thread

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...tpms-pita.html

Personally my wife and I don't find it all that hard to ignore. Hit "OK" and it drops to the bottom right hand corner of your dash. Some folks put a piece of black tape over it so they can't see it.

YES!!! thanks everyone that chimed in. My F rated tires may be overkill for what I need but they ride better than the last tires I had(warrantied out). I dropped all to 65psi and definitely can tell big difference from the 80psi I had in the back. I’ll bump back up to 75-80 when I tow.

theres still some comfort to be had with your tires. I follow the carli guidelines for my 35’s and now 37’s on 18” wheels.

35″-37″ tires and inflate them in accordance to THEIR load curve (40-45PSI Front, 35-40PSI Rear), not the factory tire’s load curve to which most factory TPMS Systems are set.

you’ll get a much softer unloaded ride. There’s no reason to be driving around unloaded with 60+ psi in your tires.

humm, I lowered to 65 and that made a slight difference, I'm going to have to give 50 a try, some of the roads I frequent are washboard type and I find it amazing that the road will toss and turn this block of metal all over. when I drive my jeep on the same roads I can kick back and enjoy the road instead of wondering if I'm going to be tossed off the side when driving the truck.

Yeah, bump steer, not crap. It’s real and my F350 is really good at it. It you get the tire pressure table for your tires you will find they can be really low on pressure and still be fine running empty bed! Steve

I am curious why you say you cannot get them with an 80 psi rating as they are listed on their site as having both a 65psi and 80psi version...
