2002 4.2 gaskets

I have a 2002 4.2 need to replace the passenger side gasket do I need to pull the plenum to do it? I need to see which cylinder in going bad tiring to not pull the head until I know which is bad

Your post is a bit unclear. Are you changing the head gasket? If so then yes, you need to remove the intake manifold. Why do you want to remove the head?
