The new parts truck has a rear axle "issue", 1. like no rear d/s. 2. the pinion bearing is shot, like flop around shot. No telling what is going on in the inside.

Seems I can never keep track of this site. Dropped off a Y Block at Harriers new place in Jeff City yesterday. Joe and I were talking about the site so I looked for it this morning.
I’m pretty much moved into the new place in Wentzville finally. Still waiting on some furniture to come in. There seems to be a huge backlog at the manufacturers.
Wish I could say it’s nice to be able to just walk over to the shop and work when I want but I’ve really not had any time to do so. Luckily the house has a 2 car attached garage and I have been able to work in it to build a Y Block for my 56 that’s still at the bodyshop. After test fitting the brackets I took them off and sent them to be powder coated.

292 .060 over bore with 4 barrel, alternator and A/C.

Afternoon folks, BJ we are right here every month, I start a new BS thread and post a link to it on the last day in the old monthly thread.

I have not forgotten about you and the last steering wheel issue. I will dig out another one and get it your way when I catch a break and a chance.

Rich,
I’m in no rush on the steering wheel. I’m not sure why FTE sends me notices for my old truck forum updates but not for the Missouri one. I have to admit I get lazy and don’t often look too hard either.

Evening All!

Rich. I can wait. No problem there.

I'm keeping busy. Hauler is getting done, but there's a Scout in the garage with the bottom 10" missing that I really need to get cracking on.

Rich, I'm ten minutes from Wentzville every Tuesday. Maybe we can manage a relay with the steering wheel at some point. The furthest "south" I get is Owensville every other Monday and Pilot Grove on the occasional Wednesday.

rich..sounds like the rear differential in my truck may be better than the one in your new truck.. ha ha ha ha.. would you know if a 96 frt and rear differential would bolt into a 85? i found a rolling chassis i can get cheap and close to me.. but it is a 1996 with 4:11 gears so i would need to switch out both ends......

Morning folks we have a dusting of snow and it is cold out there.

RC 96 spring pad width versus 85 spring pad width? Sorry I do not know it the 96 will fit. Time to get the ol tape measure out and get cold.

Where do you come to? That’d be great if we could make the steering wheel thing happen but I’m in no hurry for it yet.

We’re getting light Snow here but it’s really just blowing around. I think it’s too warm yet. My pond doesn’t have any ice on it yet. The last couple of 40ish days killed any ice that WAS on it. But it’s a great day to be working inside.
