I was an Airdale - Jet Engine Mech. Was kinda both ship/land. Was aboard when my Squadron was assigned to a cruise. My shore/sea rotation was 6 years shore duty, 2 years in a seagoing squadron. Nice thing was if we weren't assigned for a cruise, we we ashore too.

Heard from the Grandson that works on Mt Abram resort building and maintaining the mountain bike trails there. Was coming down one of the black diamond trails he built and went head over handlebars ! Broke clavicle (collerbone) in 3 places ! Had surgery and repaired it... doing well now. He won't be riding anytime soon. Saw xrays of the breaks.... dang near compound fracture.
