just saw an accident on my way home from my brothers house. i did not witness the accident happening but the people behind him saw it and said he had a few and was realy drunk and walked away wondered a quarter mile away walking with a head injury. the witness saw my ranger and said do you need parts and as i got closer to the truck in the ditch i just said wow thats a nice 92 ranger mint condition with a busted grill bent up bumper and front axle twisted. i said naa not worth it by stealing as we were all joking about it. i just dont understand why people still think they can just pull it off by driving intoxicated .any how the police arrested him . ps its agood thing he went alone on this rather hitting an inocent family coming down the road uh.
well a kid i have known for quite a few years ( i didnt know him by choice, went to school with the turd ) during the summer rolled his car and paralized another kid that i know and now there was a nice ad in the paper saying that the driver is being charged with criminal wrekless something or another. im glad to hear this, hope he gets the books thrown at him.
p.s. his blood alcohol level was .13 legal limit is .08
With all the penalties and all the repercussions, no one in their right mind would drive drunk these days. I personally don't have 3 grand to spend on lawyer's fee's and criminal charges.
Two high school friends of mine died last year. (our last year in high school) They were DWI, and crashed the 80 or 90 something Mustang they were driving. One was killed on the spot, the other died when en-route to the hospital.
This goes to show you that Driving while drunk is very dangerous, and deadly.
Someone posted "If you can't drink, then drive, why do bars have parking lots ?? "
Teenagers and cars are already a sketchy proposition. Add alcohol to the mix and inexperience is gonna be a killer. Most people that have done any substantive amount of drinking will say that .13 is a pretty low BAL.
But tolerance is no excuse for any of it. I know exactly what Acerockola77 is saying.
I'm not proud of my .232 on a rice rocket when I was 25.

All drunk drivers need to be jailed for life. Roulette on the road is already chancy enough with cell phones, make-up, and sound systems without adding judgement impaired drivers with super slow motor functions as well.
I would have to agree with everyone on this subject thanks.. i just learned there has been more roll overs and too much speed on this road that i do enjoy driving on as a short cut for this year than the previous years and its mostly kids getting their licence driving mom and pops cars in that community. its a lazy road of 30 mph with a few curves there. now i have to find an other place to teach my kids to drive..in the country back roads

That is right but you actually aren't in your right mind when you are drunk. A lot of otherwise decent folks drive drunk because they are drunk and don't have the good judgement to park it. I am not proud to say that I have been there and done that. It starts out innocent enough with a beer or two and then before you know it you have had several and it is time to go. You just don't realize how impaired you really are. I was never in an accident and never got a DUI. I don't much drink anymore but the last few years that I did, I would just leave the pickup at home and call a cab when I went out, so I wouldn't be in a position to make an impaired decision at the end of the evening.
Sadly enough there are still plenty of impaired drivers out there that don't even drink. Even back when I did drink, I could have blown a .10 and still been a safer driver than the majority of the other motorists.
I think that along with ridding our roads of drunks we need to start ridding them of other unsafe profiles. I think that after a certain age you should have to pass a reaction time test every other year and prove that you are capable to be out in traffic safely. We need to quit giving drivers licenses in crackerjack boxes and make it more like getting a pilot's license. And just take the car from anyone caught violating ceretain safety issues.
When I lived in Anchorage they were plenty of people with drivers licenses that could barely speak English, and darn sure didn't belong on the road.

Jaraxle is that your answer to everything? If we just started lopping off heads to cure social ills, I would almost bet you would eventually find your head on the block too. Although if you had your choice you would have had me up there a couple times already. Is that a personal thing?
"Give the PA Legislature grudging credit: Although it finally gave in to Uncle Sam's million-dollar blackmail by lowering the drunk-driving standard to .08 percent, it made the best of a bad situation by doing the first comprehensive rewrite of the drunk-driving laws in 20 years, adding stiffer penalties to attack the real problem: repeat offenders with high blood-alcohol counts.
Writing the .08 rules, lawmakers did the minimum to get their federal highway subsidies and satisfy Big Brother.
Your first conviction at the lower level will get you no more than a fine of $300 and a maximum of 6 months probation, plus the embarrassment of being publicly branded a drunk driver; however, no jail time, no license suspension.
As we've said before, these arrests will function primarily as money-makers for the Gov't, while doing little or nothing to make the highways safer.
However, the same law also contains tougher penalties for repeat offenders, and those whose blood-alcohol levels test at twice the legal limit, 1.6, or higher. They will have to undergo a full drug-and-alcohol assessment. They will not be eligible for ARD-a lenient probation-if they've had a prior offense within 10 years or if they had a child in the vehicle when they drove drunk.
A third conviction at 1.6 or higher will get them one year in prison, a $2500 fine, an 18-month license suspension and installation of an ignition interlock system for one year. These penalties are much tougher than under the old law."
So first-time offenders are still getting off easy, but I like the clause about drunk drivers with kids in the car. Your thoughts?
Why must everyone bash on teen drivers? I'm about two weeks from 20 and have never had a wreck go the speed limit and obey the laws. Most of my friends do to. Around here the old people are the problem. They can't see, hear, etc, etc and they're all over the road. They pull out in front of you and go either 15 or 90 in thier land barge. That and there are plenty of middle age people I see one their cell phones without a care as to driving and others so in a hurry that they'd rather run you off the road than risk spilling their latte. There are idiots in all groups, it's just easiest to blame the young people. There,my rant is complete.
