Today is my birthday and yesterday I was driving my F250 regular cab XL 4×4 6.2L truck home and I ran over a rough spot in the road potholes and what not and my truck just stop running , I came to the light and put it in park to start it backup and I got nothing not even a click from the battery and when I went to shift into neutral it was stuck in park and I couldn't get it to shift To neutral so I can push it out of the road the tow truck driver when he came showed me how to unlock the shifter so we could put it in neutral to tow it home.
Does anyone know what this might be? The lights turn on and everything on the dash works the battery connections to the post are tight But I'm still getting nothing when I turn over the key.
Does it have a fuel cut off switch? Many Ford cars do, or did, in the trunk. They were designed to cut off the fuel flow in an accident, but they're "bump" activated. If equipped, that could be the reason, but the tow truck driver should know about that.
Welcome to FTE. That's a bit of an issue. I hate electrical problems. But, if you take your question to the Super Duty Heavy Duty sub forum, or even the Miscellaneous sub forum, you will probably get responses form folks that enjoy such a challenge.

I looked behind the passenger kick panel for it (watched YouTube for similar situations) but didn't see a reset switch in there. So for the 2018 F250 I'm not sure where i could find that since YouTube doesn't have any videos on my particular problem and truck. But seems right on just the way it happened, driving minding my business hit bump truck shut off and that's a wrap lol. I'll keep looking thanks
Check the connection of the big wire harness near the ebrake pedal assembly. It has caused many issues on 6.2 trucks.
Ok I'll try that.
Ok im back, didn't notice any thing obvious loose or disconnected, should i follow it through the firewall into engine compartment and check that side?
My quick guess is battery internally shorted and it will take new battery to rectify. I had similar issue.
Yea that's on the process of elimination list, but if the battery is bad would it still run the headlights, dome light, bed light and dash cluster?
but definitely I'll replace it. Thanks

I don't think so, the problems associated with the said wire harness had bad or loose connections at the e-brake pedal location.
the fuel pump cutoff has been know to be on the passenger side of the dash, when you open the passenger door, at the side of the dash is a little door, has the fuel cutoff picture, Don't know if it is still there on these newer trucks.
Fuel cutoff would not prevent it from cranking, only shuts off the fuel.
Sound more to me like a wire thats not 100% connected, maybe at the batteries or the starter, another possible thing to try is moving the shifter while turning the key, the NSSW may have become unhappy of disconnected.
