This will be my 7th new truck since 1995 but first time ordering one. I usually walk into several dealers and get the best price. I like to stay local but will go a little ways if I have to. I started looking back in August and was dumbfounded to see no duallies at all.
Finally got a halfway decent deal and ordered November 2. I told the dealer I had to pay for this by Jan 1. Everything was agreed to, trade in, etc. I've been watching my order and now looks like it actually might make it by end of December. Dealer assured me I could pay even if the truck was not here as long as there is a vin.
Truck is a F450 platinum WITHOUT a sunroof. Just didn't want an expensive truck with a hole in it. I've had several with the roof and never had a problem but being tall, I'm always rubbing the ceiling.
Things may go wrong, but right now I'm impressed with the quickness of the build. When covid started picking up again, I was waiting for the Ford plants to shut down. So far, so good.
December arrival is being very optimistic from my experience. Lol
Dealer called today and is expecting my truck today or tomorrow.......I ordered October 20th with a Dec 6th build.
Cheers and happy new year's......that's a more likely scenario for your beast to arrive.
My order was placed on October 12th and the truck will be delivered tomorrow or the 24th. I'm 5 hours west of the Kentucky plant, so I wouldn't get your hopes up on an end of December delivery. We're so close though, the dealer should be able to tell you if it's going to make it or not.
