Hi, I'm new to the Powerstroke game and I am looking for a little help. the other day went to start the truck (which is a 2007 f350 6.0 Powerstroke) and noticed it just does not sound right at idle, the truck was parked in a heated shop overnight (which stays about 60 degrees) and it smoked out the shop with white/black smoke. I'm currently out of town so I can't upload a video of what it looks like when started, but I found a youtube video that represents what it sounds like.
My truck started like that once when temps were in single digits. I felt like it was balky injector(s), no codes or other measurable clues I could find. Hasn’t done it again. I did have an EGR valve stick partially open once, it happened while I was driving and it felt something like that, didn’t do a cold start while it was stuck though.
Can't believe the Canadian (idiot) in that video is abusing the chit out of a cold vehicle -- stooopid.
Your vehicle (since kept in the shop, in the 60s) may have any number of things going on (e.g. injectors) -- I'd get top grade (fresh) oil in it, add a stiction eliminator, then instrument for diagnosis.
