Looking to replace my grille and tailgate emblems with black / red lettering, but can only find 9" x 3.5" emblems listed specifically for 04-14 F150s... Is the 9" x 3.5" emblem the same on the 15-20 trucks?
Why don't you disassemble your emblem and paint it yourself?
If I was just spraying the entire emblem black (which it may come down to) I'd have no problem with that. I don't trust myself to get the red exact lol. Unless the blue is an overlay of the chrome and can be separated? Don't think it is, but I could be wrong.
Edit: Aaaaand I'm wrong. A quick search on how to disassemble the emblem gave numerous video results on separating the blue from the chrome. Thanks for the idea.
Geezus, $325. I think I'll stick with my stock blue ones lol. Thanks for the link though.
Maybe it will give you some color ideas? Personally, I wouldn't pay $300 for two plastic emblems either.
Yes, the chrome separates and can easily be painted a different color. You will find that the plastic chrome is more resilient than you'd expect when it comes time to rough it up.
You might as well try it yourself...it's a cheap experiment and you still have the option to buy painted replacements if you don't like how it comes out.
