I have a 07 F-150 that I do light plowing with. Without fail, the front springs break every year. I’ve replaced4 sets with springs from Ford dealership and the last set was Monroe. Always changed out the whole strut/spring assembly and I’ve been careful in plowing not to hit anything hard. Just can’t figure out why they are breaking.
Well, monroe is your problem right there. But seriously, if the OEM ones broke then adding cheaper ones was not a good solution. I personally would not even use monroe in a civic.
Check out the Timbrens, Super Springs, or do it once and be done - with air.
However, there is a reason FORD does not recommend plowing with an f150, or really any 1500 for that matter. The front end just can't handle it. Maybe the newer models are built with a package that can, but not our models.

Frigid cold, speed, and the sudden shock of potholes not avoided will do that, the added weight of a plow doesn't help.
I read this when you first posted....didn't have much to add so I stayed silent....really just saying please follow up with whatever you do. I'm curious.
Our '08 came with an Icon kit installed...front coilovers adjustable with a ring for 0 to 3" lift height. PO had set it at max 3" and wife liked it there. So, here you'd gain adjustability but 1) it ain't cheap and 2) I have no idea if the coils are more "heavy duty" and in fact I'd wager not 'cause the damn thing rides like a Cadillac. However maybe Icon could suggest stronger springs.
A 1/2 ton isn't enough truck for plowing. A 500lbs plow hung off the front of your truck is about 1000lbs extra on your front springs. Plus, what do you have in the bed for weight? That weight is on the front axle too.
1/2 ton trucks are essentially cars. Just look at the sticker on your B pillar. Your front axle GVWR is only enough for the truck alone. Not to mention the drivetrain stress that occurs while plowing.
