No, the assemblies don't swap. IF the mainline is a station wagon or sedan delivery there is a chance the gears will swap, but then probably wouldn't be any higher speed than the ones already in your truck.
Do you have three-on-the-tree? If so, have you considered an overdrive transmission? That is much easier to put together, and fun to drive.

Since it seems you don't mind keeping a Dana 44 rear axle in it, why not just get the parts to rebuild yours and change the gear ratio? Parts are readily available for it. I found Rock Auto to be the least expensive for the same brand names others were selling when I rebuilt my Dana 44. When done, the truck will still have it's original rear axle which is a good thing.
