I've never owned anything anywhere near new but if I did I would change out all fluids at 1000 or so. Any contamination of fluids from the factory would be nice to remove as soon as possible.
So with 8,000 miles on the truck this was bugging my ocd so I thought what the hell, let’s change it.
Manual says 2.2 quarts of mercon LV, so I pick up 3 quarts and off I go. Get to the shop and drain it…. Only 1.1-1.2 quarts come out… ok interesting. Refill it and it took 2 quarts.
So I’m glad I did, was only filled a little past half way.
Edit: i should check my front diff before winter when I start using my 4wd. Might have been filled by the same person lol
Sounds like a Dealer Service Dept "Pre-Delivery Inspection" item we pay for, got over-looked, or just wasn't done. I'd let All the Dealer management & Ford Customer Service know in writing, that includes the VIN #. Makes one wonder about the tranny & rear differential fill too, doesn't it !!!???
