2002 Excursion LTD. Looks like my electronic climate control assembly has failed. If anyone knows where to get replacements other than ebay... please let me know. Apparently no longer available from Ford. .... or if you could recommend a reputable refurbisher/rebuilder. Thanks
So far... I've found most refurbishers are 'out of stock'.
I recently replaced mine with a rebuilt that I purchased on eBay for 249 no core Buy the way what is wrong with yours.
Well that's a good question.... since I don't have my truck right now, My kids do. I'll have it back tomorrow. It seems there's a vacuum leak (the gray line) at the unit and the display goes wonkie at times... not always.
I struggled with my AC defaulting to the defroster and then switching back to the vents for years (at least 10) as I tried to find the problem to no avail. I finally found the problem, the 4wheel drive solenoid which is located on the passenger fender near the battery. It was cracked on the bottom and was causing a vacuum leak, although my 4x4 was working it was enough to affect the the climate control. Forty bucks and I was back in business.
PS: My EATC is electronic and does not have any vacuum lines attached
My 4WD solenoid is brand spanking new. I've had a minor vacuum leaking at the gray line... everything else is tested and good. Probably an o ring somewhere... but the electronics "according to my kids" is an issue. I'll know more tomorrow.
Sometimes they don’t work, and with your X running, cycle the headlight switch on and off a few times. There’s a relay in the dash that sticks and that should (if that’s the problem) make it start working again. I’ve not seen an actual fix for this problem, but mine does it from time to time.
