Build date til pickup
How long from the build date does it take to actually take to receive your vehicle? I know it depends upon length from plant for travel but was wandering how long it actually takes to build it. I figure it will take an additional 5-10 days to get to Alaska than would the West Coast.

From the build date, it USUALLY takes 7-10 days. However, I had a Focus order this summer that took 6 WEEKS to get here once it was built. Ford's explanation was that there was some safety defect they discovered after a group of cars were built, and held them back till they could be fixed. Of course, it took 4 phone calls before I got this story, and even a loaner car didn't make the customer happy. They told me to take a leap, and then went and bought a Civic. Thank you, Ford. Moral of the story? We never really know for sure when your vehicle will arrive. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
