What is the best glue for the weatherstrips on my suicide doors, recently bought 2003 F150 Lariat. Looks like PO used contact cement on one door, did'nt hold, and Black weatherstrip adhesive on the other door. Didn't hold either, but maybe he didn't use it correctly ?? Any help appreciated. Any idea what the factory used ? Thanks !
I'd probably use something like this. https://www.permatex.com/products/sp...ive/?locale=en
By the way, most of the weather strip is not glued as it has to be removed to do certain repair procedures so don't go crazy with the glue. The weather strip has a formed crimp to hold to the chassis and doors. I just remove and re-squeeze the channel when mine comes loose.
Maybe the PO never cleaned the surfaces with alcohol before gluing.

I kinda thought they were just a squeeze fit on there. I will remove, clean all old glue , and do th crimp thing again. Thank you !!!!!!
