Inside light/door ajar light staying on

I know some vehicles have a delay in the lights dimming, etc., but I don't remember my 99 2 door Supercab XLT having this feature when new.

As of late, the inside light and door ajar dash light seem to stay on for an increasing amount of time on startup and even exiting/shut down. I have an aftermarket alarm (added by dealer) so it may be the cause. Don't know.

I checked today to see if the door pin switches were sticking. Much to surprise, I couldn't find any pin switches.

Any ideas? Thanks.

So, it's the GEM that's behind the wiper thing! I had just chalked it up to cheap, plastic, modern technology. That link was worth the time reading through. Thanks BDS.
