Picked it up tonight,,,

, man this truck rocks,,I love it, that V-10, with the 6-speed and 4:30 LS, is one awsome truck,, all the hills I travel, ( near home) that V-10 just pulled right up them, where even tonight the PSD auto, ( I traded in) after all the tool boxes and stuff was out, it still down-shifted on the same hills !

This new truck has some nuts,,,,,,I left from a stop light, with my foot into it a-bit,,, spinning the duals, and up to 70 mph in 3 rd gear, and had lots more rpm to go,,can ya say yeeee haaaa,,,,,,,,,,, after that at the next light it smoked em up a nice burn-run,,,, my son looking back ,,,,said yup I see smoke !!!! ( it was dark, like 8:30 ) That was enough testing ,,like I said, this thing rocks, and the zf-6 standard is the way to go, no slugishness, no weird shifting points, or un-wanted downshifts, I love it,,, ,,,,

Later,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark

That's a sweet post, it's so cool to see someone pumped up about something, and it brings up a valid point. Gas motors are inherently different, and made for a different user than diesels. There aint nothing wrong with diesels, nothing at all. But as this post clearly explains, there is a big difference in the way the horsepower is developed, and how and when it's delivered. A guy who buys a diesel isn't looking for this kind of thrill, and that's cool, it really is. A guy who buys a PSD or the new Cummins isn't the same guy who'd put $25K in a 66 Mustang Fastback in his garage JUST SO HE CAN GO OUT AND TORTURE SOME PAVEMENT FOR THE PURE JOY OF SHREDDING RUBBER. A diesel owner may very well build a hot rod, and he may want to tow his beautiful car somewhere with his diesel. The difference in us, a person who'd buy a V-10 to haul our race car to the track is we want that hot rod feeling all the time, even when running to the store for diapers. So not trying to get under anyone's skin, just trying to illustrate the difference. It's not the good vs evil debate I often joke about, it's just different, that's all.

Thanks guys I'm glad you liked it,,cause we were all wound up,, and today we took the V-10 for a short drive,,left this plumbing supply house, was just a slight up grade,,burped the throttle in 1st and looking in the pass TT mirror there were 2 burnrun marks,,just alittle one, .

Just the way this V-10 growls is so cool,,I put on alittle over 80 miles, since I picked it up, and its down to 3/4 on the gauge about like my PSD F-350, and way more throttle responce !! the 6-speed is sweet,, OH,,Oh,,when we were at the plumbing store,,I shut the truck off,,,the radio stayed on,,,puzzeled by this I looked at my son,,I said it must be on a timer,, so after 40 seconds or so,,I said,,well will see if its off when we come back,,grabbed the door handle, opened the door,,radio shuts off,,,,,,,,AAAAAwesome,, thats a cool feature, turn the key to acc, then back off, radio works, power windows work,,until you open the door, then it shuts off,,, Is this an 04' feature, or do the 03's and 02's do this too,,??? I know my 99' did'nt, !

I have a nice fiberglass cap that I will be putting on soon, Its silver, and is almost exact match with the bottom silver accent color of my truck, it should look nice, I have to wash it, and its too damn cold now,,lol (Today),,I took pics of my 99' F-350, and wiil get some of the 04' F-350,,how the heck do ya post pics on here,,I cant find it, and it says its full,,no more pics,,,???? WHAT,,? lol,,this is a great site, and I enjoy all the fellow SD owners pics and comments. ,,,,.

Later,,,,,,,,,,,Mark

My radio stays on too, it's an 03. I thought they all did that, my 98 F150 did the same.

Ain't it cool though, how you can make a big truck bark at the moon when you stomp it? I always get a kick out of mine. I have the 6 speed too. I like the reactions I get when we are at job sites, most everyone drives their personal vehicles to the site. A lot of these guys are always trying to smoke them when they leave. I pump it up, pop the clutch, pound it down and hang on. Even loaded down the thing boils the tires and screams that V10 scream. I've seen a few jaws drop on these guys watching a fully loaded, 6000# truck throw itself sideways while cooking the tires for 50-60 feet. Enjoy it!!! I know I do and I suspect everyone else here does too.

My radio doesn't stay on after turning off the key (cd player version), but the windows work until you open the door.

HAVE FUN!
