Ok, so its time for a new box. Problem is I can't get the nut off the sector shaft to see how many splines I have while its in the truck .Build date is 02/00 so its possible I could have either 32 or36. I want to order tonight to get sale price. Should I just go with the 32 hoping its right? If I have the 36, all I would need to do is swap out the pitman arm to the 32, correct?

You could send yours in to West Texas Offroad and have it rebuilt. You could also have it ported at that time so if you decide to go with hydra-assist you’d be ready. I sent my PCS gearbox in to be ported and it was returned within 9 days.
That nut is typically torqued to 250 ft/lbs so either a LONG cheater bar or solid impact.
