Anybody know how to remove line x from paint? The previous owner covered the cab with what I believe is line x. Its black and bumpy to the touch. I need to get it off. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
Good luck on getting that off.
I had that on my parts truck style side bed
Heat turns it to a sticky goo so I found out when I was using the plasma cutter to remove the bed sides.
Now a Google search years ago turned up to freeze it and chip it off.
Think they said use dry ice but that would be a lot of ice and take forever to remove the liner and that was in a bed.
Now the liner in my bed was pretty thick and if you could get to an edge you could almost peel it off from the look of it.
I did not try and peel it but I needed to remove some of the bed bolts and at the bolt edges it looked like it would peel up.

Definitely not Line X. Thats probably some cheap dupliclor bedliner. It will come off with a tremendous amount of sanding but a replacement body is easier.
I'd try aircraft remover before I replaced panels. Cheapest I found it when I was looking was for 2 gallon cans on amazon. It's some pretty hot stuff, got everything in it you can think of including MEK, but it'll remove most anything down to bare metal. Wear safety gear, it eats through skin too.
