On my 2001 Ford E350 super duty, I’ve been having an issue with the DRL again.
I have the DRL module, the truck came with it.
Ive noticed on the headlight switch, there is a yellow wire with black stripe plugged into IGN. It says it’s B+ to main light switch. When it is in place I get no DRL, when I touch the yellow/black to the B1 (black/orange) wire the drl work. Should I have direct power going to the yellow/black IGN wire itself? Is there something interfering with it further down the line?
I see some brown areas indicating an overheat in that photo. It's no surprise to me that you are having issues with this, I'm sorry to say. When I was retro fitting H4 headlights into my '98 over a period of weeks I came to the conclusion that Ford STILL uses substandard wiring thus overloading the Multi Function Switches. I say Still because I notices minuscule headlight wiring on my old trusty '81 Econoline. In the case of my '98 and my '81 I rewired these circuits with upgauged wire to manual switches ie (foot dimmer) in my case most recently.
