Does anybody know or heard did they change the 4x4 system in these trucks and go away from the old system as my 15 and now 17 iwe going bad around 40,000 miles??
The IWE system is junk IMO and needed to go away years ago, not sure why Ford is so stuck on it. The little bit of mileage you gain isn't worth the complexity of the system and they should go back to a CAD system like everyone else uses.

The front hub engagement system is redesigned for 2021. It no longer uses vacuum activated hubs. They are electronic now; no longer relying on a constant vacuum supply to stay disengaged.

Probably because of the engine options. Notably the Hybrid, Electric and Diesel options; there is no vacuum on electric or Diesel engines and vacuum might not be there on the hybrid if the gasoline engine isn't running.
Good to know that it's been changed to electric. I hate the vacuum system on my Excursion.
