Hello from AK

Hey guys,

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I just ordered a 2021 F-250 and I’m sure this forum will come in handy. Ordered a star white 7.3 lariat with the crew cab and short box. I had to order one because there’s none left in the entire state so I figured I’d get what I want!

I’m coming from a 2017 F-150. Long story short, I’m getting rid of it due to cam phaser/timing chain problems at 47K miles. My 2005 had the same issues and I’m not playing that game twice. Feel free to roast me if that was a bad reason to upgrade to the 7.3.

I decided to move to Super Duty land since I’ve been doing a lot more towing as of late. I tow about 6K pounds with the SxS and trailer and lighter with the 2-place trailer with snowmobiles. I went with the 7.3 because of engine simplicity and (hopefully) reliability. I’m hoping to avoid any more expensive timing issues. While I would love the diesel, I don’t make that kind of money, nor do I tow heavy enough to justify buying one.

Anyways - that’s all I have for now. I look forward to your input!

Yeah I went from a 2015 F150 to a 2019 F250. I think the 250 drives better, better chassis.

So all you have to deal with is less MPG.
