Question Mystery dash feature
Can anyone tell me the purpose of this dash feature on my 2006 F350? Must be a hanger for something but I can't guess what zactly.

Ford calls it a trash bag holder after 2004. From 99-04 it was the location of the ashtray.

I have an '03 and have the same hook. No ashtray on mine.

It was called a trash bag holder. My wife used it on rare occasions for her purse to keep it from sliding to the far side of the truck.
It also works to hold take-out bags close by.

My 03 has the panty holder option. The ash tray is in between the the cup throwers.

That’s for smokers so they have a place to hang their portable ash try in case they cannot open the window and litter!
