My ‘04 4WD limited X front springs were shot at 160k. The front was 3.5” lower then the rear and would easily bottom out on the stops. So I purchased and installed the Pro Comp 22210 front springs wanting a 2” lift over stock. Well then I had a low rider X and I anticipated that. So I replaced my 12 year old Firestone air bags with new bags and that got me level at 100psi. To take the lift off the airbags, I want to replace the rear springs but I see PC does not make a 2” lift rear spring for the X or did I miss something. So I was going to get the 4” lift 22415 rear springs, remove the OEM 2” block on the axle and let the springs sit on the axle like,I assume, the 2wd X does. Am I headed down the right path or is there a better option.
There are some very knowledgeable members on this forum and will give you helpful information.
My suggestion is that you call Junior at ATS Springs and weigh that against info you get here. Junior helped me use my old RAS with a set of their B springs for my rear setup which gave me about a 3” lift. Junior suggested I purchase OEM Z codes (I’ve got a 2wd) for the front and not buy through him. Anytime someone tells me to purchase another vendor’s product, I listen.
You are on the right path.
yes you remove the factory block with those rear springs.
lots of posts on here about how to set those springs up.
here is a link for your setup https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...lteration.html
Guys, thanks for all the replies and great advice. They confirmed I’m on the right track. I think I’m going with the 22415 and remove the OEM block.

dont forget to measure your tcase output shaft and pinion angle do you can correct the driveshaft ujoint angles or you will get vibrations. Also with a level stance you need to aim your headlights correctly so you don’t blind oncoming traffic
