Not sure if this should be here or in electrical, but I just wanted to offer a possible tip for those with the old single master cylinder w/ the switch mounted on the MC. I lost my brake lights and discovered the switch was not working. When I looked at the old one after I got it out, there was sludge in the inlet. I had let fluid trickle out while getting the new one in, so I'm not too concerned at this point, but I think it may have been worth trying flushing the old switch, it may still be good. The new one was less than 12 bucks at NAPA, so it's not a big deal, but cleaning might work it a pinch, John
Funny how they made those pressure switches for years with not a hint of trouble. And then Ford started using them again in the late 90's for a cruise control interlock and they started catching fire. Big deal back then for Ford. Big recall.
