The truck I am buying has some pretty big gouging on the bed and tailgate trim. I am planning on buying parts 1 and three from this link. I have the flex step in my tailgate, is it possible to replace the trim piece that hides the flex step, and ends up being on the underside when the step is down? If so can someone post the link for part numbers for the assembly?
I've thought about replacing mine, it's always popping off.
Is Is it just held in by clips and the clips are worn out? I saw some pretty cheap options on Amazon, I wonder how they would hold up compared to the OEM pieces.

It's just one side of it but to me it looks like the clips are part of that piece.
If I'm not mistaken, there are two screws on the step that hold that trim in place as well. If you pull the step out part way and look on the bottom side, you'll see two screws towards the center that help hold it in place. I'm looking at replacing mine and pulled it off to check what was needed. It also had a part number on it but I had a hard time getting info on it. Finally found the part online and it wasn't cheap. If you leave the tailgate closed and slide the step upward from the tailgate, you'll see the two screws on it. The plastic around those screws is broken on mine, but I was able to get them to hold in place for not.
