MAP/MAF Cleaning

I cleaned my MAP & MAF sensors and seem like I've regained a few MPG. It's too early for hard numbers, I want to run a few tanks first but looks promising. I'm also hoping it will help my occasional misfire, but I suspect that's the 70,000 mile spark plugs...

Anyone else have any success with this?

Here is a short how to video I did.

I've never used this, but am also interested to see what others say about their results.

Also, it's been brought to my attention that what I'm calling a MAF sensor is just an IAT based on my year and that it used to be a MAF. Curious if anyone can confirm this, but it makes sense I suppose.

What you sprayed was the Intake Air Sensor. a two wire device.
The Mass Air Meter is a larger " airflow sampling device " by percentage, a multi wire device.
Big difference.
The IAT offers a resistance value to the PCM same as the cylinder head temperature sensor.
These two sensors are the way the PCM knows the difference between cold and hot starts to set fuel , ignition timing and high idle..
I doubt cleaning the IAT is that responsible for a large mileage change..
In colder temps fuel mileage tends to get worse. Warmer temps mileage gets a bit better.
The colder air gets the denser it becomes, the more fuel required.
CHT remain about the same due to the thermostat. Only difference is how long it takes to get up to temperature..
Afterall the IAT and CHT sense this and report accordingly. Fuel consumed is affected.
These senors should stay pretty clean if the air filter is not left into long or that K&N oiled deal if used does not get out of hand with oil getting pulled out the filter..
