A few times I've experienced an issue where the truck doesn't want to stay stopped at a stop sign/light. I really need to hold the brake or it wants to go. Doesn't do it all the time, it's only happened a few times. I have less than 1000km on the truck. It's a 2020 with 7.3 gas engine and 10 speed.
Is this the torque converter not disengaging or something in the transmission? anyone else had this happen?

Mine does this for the first few minutes after starting. It has high idle in drive for some reason. High idle, with a strong first gear, wants to make the truck move. If the torque converter was locked while stopped, the engine would stall. I don't know why the engine has such a high idle in drive. I guess ford really wants the get the motor and transmission heated up?
These 10 speeds are a different animal for sure. The high idle thing has always been a thing. What I'm having trouble with is the transmission constantly "adapting" which makes it unpredictable seeming. The truck also tends to move more than others I've had after putting it in park. The roll after lining up under the trailer hitch is infuriating, both 20's roll a solid couple inches in park! Also had it back itself into a wall when parking, I parked within an inch of the wall, put the truck in park, took my foot off the brake, and it rolled back uphill right into the wall! Never had these problems with the old 6 speeds, and never had the truck move more than could be easily compensated for when hooking a trailer.
I’ve just got mine (7.3 10speed) but I’ve noticed the same thing. It’s annoying for sure. I haven’t tried it yet but I wonder if after engaging park if I left my foot on the brake for a few seconds if it would do it?

1-2" of movement after put the vehicle in park is normal for any vehicle I have ever driven. When lining up to a trailer hitch, always use the parking brake, and you will have zero movement. If you park within 1" of a wall, then the truck moves an inch, that is on you for parking too close.

I agree with you. However my experience isn't the normal roll that I've had with my last seven 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Its a much more forceful lurch and in my case its more than 1 or 2 inches.
When loading my truck camper, I find if I put it in neutral, then park, it doesn't roll. Yeah, an inch would F things up when I'm not lined up exactly right. Has about 1/2 inch clearance on each side.
It could be worse I suppose. My 2020 F550 has Fords genius "auto-neutral" thing combined with hill start assist. So at every stoplight, the truck puts itself in neutral and holds the brakes. Light turns green, put your foot on the skinny pedal, and nothing happens, then a second later the transmission slams into first, the brakes release, and you lurch away from the light after everyone else is halfway through the intersection and the guy behind you is wondering what the heck your problem is. Truck is absolutely impossible to drive smoothly in town! In some ways, I miss my 2016...

I have had the forceful roll backwards and up hill no less. Just about hit another car and I will admit I pinched a hole in the seat. I get the roll due to the parking pawl in an auto but how the hell is it rolling UP hill and with some force?

That sounds like something that needs to be disabled ASAP. Hopefully it's in Forscan.

The truck will not go to neutral it will stay in first. What you are describing is a hard fault not a feature. I have enough of these F-550 trucks in the fleet and put 100k on my 2020 to tell you its not right. Have you brought this in for service?

Yeah, my 7.3 even lurches a little when starting.

I haven't, as I assumed it was characteristic. The Ford info states the cab & chassis 10 speeds go into neutral at idle with the foot on the brake. And it's noticeable, you can feel it go into idle when you stop at a stoplight. You can also feel it shift back into drive when you take your foot off the brake if the hill-start-assist isn't holding the brakes. It's kinda man versus technology, the whole process of shifting back into drive and releasing the brakes takes way longer than it takes me to move my foot from the brake pedal to the skinny pedal! May need to get it checked out, as I need the stealership to check the auto-hubs not disengaging as well!
I tried a launch the other day and it was a mess. Between the engine nanny's, hill start assist, and neutral idle, there is absolutely no spooling the turbo before take-off to get a good launch from a stoplight in these trucks (not that an F550 is made for that, but it was never a problem with my 2016 F550).
