F100 Steering Components
I was hoping that I could get some help with finding some parts. I've got a 1970 F100 4x4 and I need to replace the tie rods and drag link, along with a few other things. The problem I'm having is that no matter where I look, I can't find all the parts listed as fitting an F100 of the same era. However, I was looking in my truck manual and realized that the F100 and Bronco of the same era have all the same diagrams and directions as far as the front steering is concerned.
So the big question I have from all that is would a kit from say, Bronco Graveyard with all the components mentioned above fit an F100? Are they interchangable between the two vehicles? I've seen many posts here concerning steering boxes and other components like body panels, but haven't gotten that answer. Would the tie rod/ drag link set from a 65-77 Bronco fit a 1970 F100? Given that in the shop manuals the assembly and figures are the same for both front ends? (Item numbers 12727 or 12725 from Bronco Graveyard).
I would really appreciate any and all help with this. I'm having a hard time finding the parts I need and am wondering if you all know if that would work, or could direct me in the right direction. Rockauto has the parts listed, but just the left tie rod costs an arm and a leg compated to the whole set elsewhere.
Thank you all. Any input would be really appreciated.
