I had a blow out and it damaged the bedside of my 93 F350 Long bed. Rather than go thru the pain of straightening and repairing it, I just want to swap it for a nice one. Im in Texas so finding one isn't a problem. The problem is:
All the donor trucks will be F150s. From (most of) what I've read and what I believe to be logical, it shouldn't matter. However my friend says he went 150 to 250 and it didn't fit. Before I plunk down money for a nice truck then find out it wont fit, can someone conclusively state there is no difference between the f150, 250, and 350 bed mounting? I think I should be good from 88-96 (97HD's) I'm just looking for a second vote in my column.
Yes the beds are the same for all of these trucks, the lower body lines are slightly different before and after '92 but it's a light difference you might not notice if you're not looking for it.
1980 to 1986 all the same, 1987 to 1996 F150 all the same, 1987 to 1997 F250 (1997 HD) & F350 all the same. Doors are the same, but differ with additional lower door edge body line (1995? to 1997). Cabs I believe are all the same from 1980 to 1997 (OBS). Of course we have to be talking the same bed or cab length.
cabs are different between 87-91 than 92-96,front firewall and steering,92,93 are different than 94-95 cabs as air bag made slight differences, hightop brake light, beds are same 87-96,f250 same depending on # of tanks
Ok. So thank for responding and I got two different answers. Someone want to rock paper scissors or do best 2 of 3? First post says yes they are all the same. Then after that another says F250 &350 are the same but different from F150. So I have a 93 F350 and I want to use a F150 bed on it.
What say you?
The beds are the same, doesn't matter if it's F150, F250 or F350. This body style F150 ended in 1996 but F250 and F350 continued to 1997, I think that is why they were listed separately in the 3rd post. So 80-86 are all the same, then from 87 to the end of the bodystyle are the same.
