Question which one?

okay my 92 F150 just died on me so Im looking at a newer truck. I need some opinions. I found a 99 F150 4.6L w/ 64000miles and a 2002 F150 4.2L w/ 35000miles, which one should I go for? is the Triton V8 worth spending the extra money even though it has more miles on it? the price difference is only about $1000. any advice would be great, thanks.

I use kbb.com to determine how much a rig should be worth. Use the "What's my car worth" section and the trade in value subsection to figure a best price/value for each truck you're looking at. Step thru it and you will see what kind of details you need to know like options and mileage. Then compare the value with the same info in the private party sell value section. This will give a good idea of the value of each truck. Of course drive both trucks and see which one you like better. I have no opinion on the 4.2 vs 4.6L, never owned one, but I sure like the 5.4L. I agree, I've never driven the other two, but if I had a full sized truck, it sure wouldn't have a V6 in it. Another bonus is that the V8 will have a better resale value if you decide to get rid of it.

the triton is definitely better even with the extra miles.
