Gas vs Diesel

Need as much info as possible. Currently i have a 19 f250 gasser 53k miles on it. Im in a good place to trade up either to a 20/21 gas or go with diesel. I tow 8-12k lbs enclosed cargo trailer 4 out of 7 days a week. Currently getting 9-10 mpg pulling. 12 in town mpg and 15-17 interstate mpg. Besides wear and tear maintenance is pretty low. Whats the upside to going diesel? mpg? Longevity? Always wanted one just cant pull trigger. What are maintenance costs on diesel? I drive alot. Thanks in advance

Hills & mountains or flat? That was the deciding factor for me.

And curious, did you try the search function? Cuz this topic has been Beaten To Death!!

I feel the 6.7 diesel would be overkill for those loads but the ole' saying goes.....you can't have to much truck.
F350 7.3 gas would be a candidate.

Lots of threads discussing Diesel vs gas.

The 6.2 is enough. The 7.3 is more than enough. The 6.7 is a lot more than enough.

Once you have an answer, be sure to come back and ask what oil you should use. And after that thread gets resolved, ask about additives, particularly if you got a diesel.

A diesel is going to cost you more to operate. But if it's what you want and you can afford it then I say go for it! That's what I did.

Don't forget gears. Gears are the most important!

For real tho dude. This has been discussed probably once a month since the beginning of this forum. Search is your friend.

Then again, it is the beginning of the month, so it is probably time for another one!
