just as I thought everything was going great
it happened. My 91 302 is leaking coolant badly I know its not the water pump or from the thermostate or surrounding area.
I hope its not but has anyone ever had to replace the head gaskets from this prob.
but wait it doesn't stop there I also think I snapped my drivers side axel shaft it makes this loud clunking noise and is real slugish
Check your hoses!!! The lower hose is probably the most likely canidate. Also check your heater hoses. Check the rad for some greenish residue (most likely on the bottom half of the rad) and make sure your resivor isn't the leak. I had a leak also (actually missing fluid) and found it was a pinhole in the heater core. You could check that also.
As for the front axle... can't help you there, I haven't done it yet...
These trucks are notorious for coolant leaks. I have had to replace EVERYTHING. Every single hose (be sure to look for the little ones that go to the throttle body, I missed the one under the t-stat and it blew on me), the radiator, the heater core, the intake manifold gasket, a freeze plug, the t-stat gasket, water pump, every time I fixed one, another would leak. Now, knock on wood, it's been almost a year and no leaks. But I have the cleanest anitfreeze in town!
Also retorque all the hose clamps about twice a year.
