Hello,
I have a 1996 F-250 PSD 4X4 with a 3:55 Rear end and 5 spd manual tranny can anyone figure out my towing capabilities...i've looked in my manual but can't figure it out and i don't want to screw up my truck....!!!!

I ran into the same question, having the same model and equipment that you have. The best answer I've found is that the engine and transmission are capable of much more than the rest of the drivetrain/suspension/brakes are capable of handling. Personally, I've pulled a tandem axle trailer of about 10K lbs, and had no problems at all. The low range axle is a little sluggish on the take-off, but thats all. There is a towing forum elsewhere in this site that may offer more responses. Our limits are the rear axle, the SRW, and the rating sticker on the door.
