I'm planning to do the coil/axle swap to my 2005. I just started looking for axles and front suspension, not planning to do until spring. I'm trying to decide what's a good price. I found a guy that has the front frame with suspension and rear axle, 4.10 gears which is what I want as I have 35" tires. He said the truck it came from had 20K miles. He's asking $1750 including the steering box. It's 200 miles away, said he'd deliver for $350, I think that's fair. It looks like the rust is surface from sitting out in the weather. I was looking at some older threads and guys getting the axles for around $1K. What kind of prices is everyone seeing right now?
West coast yards a complete front is $1000
msybe $1200 with all the brackets
with the rear $1500. But we have more inventory then everywhere rlse other then texas. Supply snd demands, your results will vary
I looked for a while (months) because I wanted 4.30s. Found one a couple hours away (I’m mid-Atlantic) and it included pretty much everything including the steering box for 800. Also got the master cylinder. Front axle only. I didn’t want to spend money on the rear right now anyway. I’ll just use a quality set of spacers.
3.73s can be had for cheaper as they are plentiful. Good luck.
6061 if going aluminum would seem to suffice. Stud quality and manufacturing quality are heavily weighted as well (preferably American made and not some knock-offs...).

the only off the shelf studs I have found to not stretch at 165Lbs are the Motorcraft. I have not used ARP but am certain they would work well if I was willing to pay the price. Dormans very definitely stretched. I have not tried any non branded china studs, just not that brave,
as far as manufacturing quality, I have never check the runout of a spacer, have you found any to have be more then .0001 out ?

I don’t have the fiscal means or care to test the various different manufacturers against one another. At some point you just gotta pull the trigger after weighing the available metrics. BORA seems to check a lot of boxes, has great reviews, and a lifetime warranty.
I'm going to pull the trigger on the axles I found. I'm probably not going to find another set with 4.10 gears. 20K mikes, brakes and steering box. $1750 for all. I'm taking a trip to WV next week, then stopping in Indiana to pick up on the way home. I hadn't really mentioned to the wife until the other day, she seemed to be ok with it, especially when I told her it would probably cost $2400 to change the gearing, which I need to do anyway. Better turning and ride also helped! I didn't mention I'll be using her spot in the garage! I'm stoked to start cleaning, painting and preparing everything for install in the spring!
