ranger transmission

can an auto trans from an 06 4.0 4x2 be converted to fit into an 04 4.0 4x4 can anyone help or what trans years will fit an 04 4.0 4x4

I see you still don't have any replies, so will see if I can get things started. Bet your local salvage yard has a parts book on which year model tranny will fit a 04 4.0L 4X4, maybe have one in stock at reasonable cost???

No, sir. Well, yes, technically, but it’s not quick and/or easy. You would have to swap the output shaft, which is about the last thing that comes out of a transmission when you dig into one.

From what I see, 04-06 from a 4.0 4x4 will work.
