jEFFS BRONCOGRAVEYARD

My 1985 Never had intermittent wipers and I was always on the look out(bone yard) for a wiper delay box knowing this can be converted with the module and another switch that uses a ground. Jeffs now has this delay box if any one else wants to make a change .This was always a hard item to get hold of and I got a notice last month , he now stocks it HA HA HA after 36 years of driving this truck I now have intermittent wipers - yes costly but the pita of turning them on and off is gone His stock # =35215 . I purchased a switch from rock auto!!!!!!! No I am not affiliated with either companies .Good luck TR!!!!!!!!!! (All this was plug in and tuck away )

Good to hear you can get the box from someone.
I got my box with switch off Ebay.
I never drove my truck with out them but it is nice having them.

So how is this different than the two speed wipers on my truck now? I've never known anything different on any of the Bullnose trucks or Broncos I've owned.

Delay wipers was optional on these trucks. If you only have 2-speed wipers now, you can swap in the delay module and switch. Common junkyard item...I think they are the same right up to 1991 or possibly later. I snagged a delay module and switch out of a 1991 a couple years ago but still haven't swapped it in....I never drive in the rain lol, so it's been very low on my priority list. If I ever take the truck on a trip, I'd install it.

My truck has it factory, it is actually quite nice. Instead of just truning the **** for the two settings, you can also turn it the other direction (I believe. I haven't driven the truck in a while so don't quote me on that) and have a range in which you can set the wiper delay how you want it. So it wipes every now and then intead of just continously. Its nice for driving in light rain or just to get rid of the road spray without having the wipers going crazy like you are in a rain storm.

1980-till 1991 , prior years the motor would have to swapped, I am guessing after 1991 it was standard. My 92 bronco dot had them on the blinker . TR

I love this forum! Since I had never seen this on any of the 80-91 trucks/ Broncos I'd owned I just figured they never offered it. Headed up to the local yard and managed to snag two of them off the two trucks they had that were compatible. Unfortunately one of the switches is jacked but the other one works great! Love me some JY upgrades!

Genuine junkyard parts! I love finding cool stuff at the junkyard...especially upgrades.

I have a few in my truck as well.
I think the faux leather wrapped steering wheel is my favorite, but the '95-'96 sliding rear window is a nice. Watch for an aluminum diff cover from an Explorer with IRS (only if you have the 8.8 rear end). I did that one myself. Little bit of work involved, but it only cost me 8 bucks lol. The factory bench seat cup holders from the 92-up trucks are nice if you have an auto trans. The 1997-1991 intermediate steering shaft is nice if you can find a good one. The later trucks had door striker posts that you could remove the bushings from...forget when that started though...'94 maybe? I've grabbed a few of those myself.

That's all good stuff right there! Someone had tried to start a JY upgrade thread but it quickly devolved. A sticky with these interchangeable upgrades for the Bullnose trucks would be awesome.

I'm already on the lookout for a slider from a newer truck but those things go fast! Did the headlight buzzer upgrade shortly after getting the truck and it saves my butt almost daily! And the rear sway bar I snagged last week, that was a great find.

What's the deal with the intermediate steering shaft?

For cup holders I liked the idea of the seat mounted ones and came up with this instead. Worked out great and they fold up out of the way when the wife and kid go for a ride with me.

I gather you need the switch and the box from broncograveyard?

The non delay wiper switch in my truck on has off/slow/fast so I can't see how it allows you to select a delay.

You need everything in the picture I posted above, the relay harness and the new switch which allows you to turn it both left (for intermittent) and right for hi/low. If you hit the JY the giveaway for the switch is the grounding wire.

The rubber boot on the upper joint of the Bullnose steering shaft will deteriorate and fail/rip/tear after a while, and there is currently no replacement available. The 1987-1991 steering shaft has a "dry" upper u-joint...meaning it is like a regular u-joint, with no rubber boot to fail. Also, the 1987-1991 steering shaft has a bonded rubber "rag joint" that is a sturdier part than the traditional style rubber disc rag joint that was used on the Bullnose trucks. It's one of those things...if you can find a good one at the junkyard, grab it for a spare, because when the upper boot rips on your shaft, you'll have a good replacement.

1980-1986 upper joint...

1987-1991 upper joint (on the shaft in my truck now). $15 used item.

Another great tip, I'll keep my eye out at the yard next time. Thanks!
