personally, if you are going to rip it apart that far you might as well yank it out and get it redone. I know it costs more but you'll be happier with the performance and chances are you have lots of blow by anyway. You'll just end up doing it later. On top of that, you need to install new cam bearings with a new cam. You will most certainly have to remove the block for that.... unless you have some amazingly creative skills...
