2020 F-450 6.7, 1500 miles - there's been 4-5 times right after start I'll get the dash squaking at me about various features being disabled.
I'm thankful FordPass catches these but there seems to be even more once I start moving - such as drive mode and adaptive cruise are also non-functional.
Is anyone else getting these and/or know what's causing them? I have an appointment @ the stealership tomorrow so if they tell me, I'll post that up here.
Following- Same errors on 2019, but none of the fixes I've found have worked. Dealership can't "replicate", so they've sent me on my way, as the notifications are sporadic.
I had a similar issue couple weeks ago with my 2020 F350 6.2 at 1000 miles, except the truck would spontaneously shut off as well as light up the dash. Brought it into the dealership 3 times and they kept saying until we can replicate it, we cant fix it. Finally failed on them and was throwing a "Network Failure" code related to the BCM (loose wire or harness). When I bought the truck I got heated seats installed from the dealer and the installer they used broke one of the main grounds off behind the passenger side toe kick plate. I was told this grounds the BCM module and one or two other modules.
Personally, it sounds like a faulty module or loose connection somewhere in the modules wiring since it doesn't sound like all of the systems you're getting warning signs have actually failed.
Thank you very much for that pointer! If I find out anything different from my experience, I'll post it to that thread. (maybe I can merge threads??)
Tomorrow I go in .. we'll see if they are on the ball.
make sure they put a note in your file about what happened in case it happens again they know it's not a new thing
I'll do that.
It started happening again this morning. The truck started fine, idled for ~5 minutes. I backed out of the driveway under power, then when I put it in drive and started creeping forward with the wheel turned sharply left, all of the warnings started going off.
So I totally powered down and back up 3 times, driving about 1/2 mile between the 2nd and 3 time and kept getting the errors. Then I drove over to the car wash (about 2 miles), shut down for the 10 minutes I took to spray it off, then power back up and all was ok.
It's almost seeming like a morning sickness or something. Maybe it'll have a little Ranger in a few months?
I'll do that.

"Ok, that's funny, right there. I don't care who ya are."
I'm not trying to bump this thread, but this same error happened again today and I'd like to document what I found.
It's about 20deg F outside. I had a startup failure (sounded like the starter solenoid engaged for just a brief second, then stopped), then on second try it restarted. I idled for about 5 minutes, then backed straight out of my driveway about 60 yards.
Then I put it in drive and went straight forward for about 40 yards at idle before I began slowly turning the wheel to the right. Once I got the wheel turned about 1/2 of a revolution (still at idle speed), all of these communication/fault warnings about the anti-lock, hill descent, pre-collision systems went off on the dash. And drive mode was disabled.
After driving about 2 miles and stopping/resetting/restarting the truck 3 times, the warnings went away and everything started working. So the morning sickness continues. I'll see what happens when I drive it this afternoon (in the cold weather).
Boy that sounds like a wheel speed sensor or connector, but I can't imagine why that would only act up when cold.
That's kind of what I was thinking. Either that or something with the adaptive steering module.

No, I haven't, for a few reasons.
I don't have a method to load test batteries @ home.
I'm not wanting to go to the dealership for this unless I have a pretty clear idea of what's happening. I don't want to go down the road about replacing the wiring harness or have them try other types of random part swapping experiments with no idea of root cause.
The truck is ~1 month old with 1700 miles. I'm thinking it would be really strange to have both batteries crater that fast.
It happens when the truck has been running for quite a while - like >10 minutes. I reckon with 2 alternators the voltage has stabilized pretty well by then.
Of course, it could be a module initialization problem that doesn't show up until that module needs to talk on the CAN - which could be a bogus ground for sure. The apparent dependence on steering input is so interesting to me. My next experiment is to park overnight somewhere where I start the truck and drive straight for a long time to see if it will show up at all before turning the wheel. I'll have to wait for some better weather here, though.
I would hook up your cell phone to video your morning regimen so you can capture all this. Then you can not only show the dealer but Post on YouTube and then show that to the dealer..... I always figure if the World can see it hard for the dealer to say " couldn't duplicate " bs
lol

Great idea!
I think I'll use my GoPro .. maybe have it mounted looking over my shoulder so you can see the dash and the wheel movement?
