F-3 tires
I recently purchased an 51 f-3 in a barn on a farm next to my brother's place in the sierra foothills. My plan is to make this truck as reliable and safe as I can without going to a full restoration. In my area water can be scarce during the dry years so people put a tank in their pickup and go to as local wastewater treatment plant to fill up with reclaimed wastewater to water their yards. I think a 1 ton truck would be great for this duty. The truck has been out of service for about 30 years, last registered in 71. It was used to feed cattle for about 10 years. It's a 4-speed with a flathead 6 engine. I have found this forum to be a good source of information. Some members really know their stuff about these old f series trucks. I have some questions already about my truck that I will throw out there in my next post.
