I have seen lots of diesel numbers for mileage, but only 5 Star Tuning has posted some gasser numbers. I did not buy a 250 with the 7.3 for gas mileage. I am just curious. I have just under 700 miles on my truck and probably mostly city driving and I am topping out at 11.4 MPG. Come the holidays, I have a few 1000 plus mile trips planned so I will have a better idea for highway miles. Thanks all
I'm approaching 700 miles on my truck, as well, and have probably close to a 50/50 split between highway and city driving. I'm averaging about 12.5 mpg overall right now. I've only got one fill-up under my belt and one thing that confused me is that the truck said under 50 miles until empty yet I was only able to put in 35 or so gallons. Seemed off considering I've got a 48 gallon gas tank.

I have a Tremor with the 4:30s and speed really seems to effect the mileage. At interstate speeds 80 ish 13+ is pretty realistic and if at highway speeds 70 ish then 14+ is realistic. The best I have seen has been a touch over 15 when running 60- on the highway. But I am in the mountains so fairly hilly any direction from town. Add high head or cross winds and will drop some from there.
JEMetzger.... I only have the 34 gallon tank and my i keep two sets of numbers: 1 the MPG provided by the ECU (or whichever system controls it) and the one I calculate directly from the miles and the gas receipt. I have not seen an issue with the DTE numbers (yet :0)
In my first 3300 miles, I'm at 14.3 MPG overall, 14.9 Highway, 13.3 City, and 10.3 on mountain dirt roads.
Note: I have the 3.55 final axle ratio. The numbers above are actuals from my log book, not the lie-o-meter, which is actually pretty close in my case.
CCLB with 4.30 gears. Got 15 going 60, get about 14 going 70+, but drops considerably with city driving to around 11-12.5. Got around 7.5-8 pulling my 9000 lb travel trailer. Pulling was in some hilly terrain, so not sure how it would do on flat ground.
Highway trips with the cruise set @ 72 I'll get mid 16's, @ 75 it'll drop to low 16's
Around town, 12-14 depending.
Towing 6-12k, usually 9-10
This is all with a base model CCSB STX with 3.55's
7.3L , 3.55 gears ccsb fx4
12.7 mixed everyday driving via the lie-o-meter
Last 200 mile freeway trip i took I averaged around 18 mpg according to the computer but gas pump numbers put it around 17.
Filled my truck up for the second time today. Averaging 12.1 MPG through 900 miles.
I waited until the DTE indicator showed less than 50 miles. I was able to put in 38 gallons (as opposed to 34 at my first fill-up), but that still doesn't seem right considering I'm supposed to have a 48 gallon tank with a long bed crew cab. At full, the DTE said 493 miles. I would expect to be closer 575 based on the MPG. For those with the 48 gallon tank, what does everyone else's truck read when you first fill up?
On a short box, 34 gallon tank mine says approx. 310 miles to DTE after a fill-up. Not sure that helps being a different tank. I always keep track of the vitals of my truck. The computer MPG is matching my calculated MPG pretty close. I am not at home so I will check my actual numbers when I get home.
