I've never seen SS on the title of any sold new in CA Ford truck, it doesn't appear on the Warranty Plate either.
It may have something to do with your states registration. Styleside is one word.

Both the California and Louisiana documents identify my '76 F-250's body as "PK". I don't know the answer to your question, but I'll bet that you can get some sort of answer if you call your state's motor vehicle office.

I have asked them before and they had no clue, I had the truck put in my name from my grandpa back in 2003 and made a copy of the old title from 1978 just to make sure I had something showing from the old title. Wasn't sure the new one was going to say the same thing but it does. I'm like you all my other trucks (and I've owned 11 other fords from 67-79) all titles had pk or f100 and so on. So idk what's up with this one.
