armrest problem

armrest problem
Got in my truck yesterday and got comfortable and then all of the sudden my armrest gives out and now it just hangs there freely. I looked at it but don't see any broken pieces. Gonna go inspect the other side to compare and see if I can figure it out. Anyone ever have this issue to help me with a quick fix or advice?

So it moves too freely up and down but how about side to side?
The armrest is held on by a big ole torx bolt. It may be loose.
If it is something broken then I would consider getting "some" real soon
If you broke the 1/2" steel stop then you are way too deprived.

Yup it does move side to side freely as well. I repositioned it and it operates like it's suppose to but if I mess with it a little bit it loses it's hold on that bolt again and back to square one.
Deprived?
nah probably more nervous than anything.

that guy always knows how to welcome people here!
I beleive that the torx bolt is really a shoulder bolt that goes into a welded nut on the frame of the seat ,it may have broke loose and need rewelded.

oh ok
Yeah I think something needs to be rewelded. It doesn't last long until it becomes lose again. Guess I'll need to take it apart or pull the seat out or something soon. Fun Fun.
