Been a member since I purchased my 88 F250 XLT single cab with the 7.5 EFI about 7 months ago. Bought from a couple who got it at auction and had become an overall burden because of lack of mechanical knowledge or financial availability. Mostly just to be a junk run and dirt hauler for projects on the property. I knew it was missing things like keys- push button start for an 88 was indication of other issues but nothing that can't have work arounds. Getting tired of work arounds and have located a donor out of an 89 250 with an extended cab and long bed. Harnesses and more auxiliary components actually present and working.
Joined up almost immediately considering that other vehicle forums seem to be the best guidance from those with the experience vice trying to sift through a bunch of nonsensical and unverified "experts" on the web. I'm not loyal to any one car manufacturer. I've owned 3 Fords, 3 Dodge, 2 Buicks, 2 Chevy, a Pontiac, a Saturn and a BMW. Truck 2 and 3 are my current project. My only desire is to at a minimum maintain them if not put them in a better position than when I bought them.
Similar to a couple of other recent members- my daily driver is Bimmer that I run hard, but also like the look on peoples face when pulling up to the office in my older trucks as well. I drive whatever is easier to get out of the driveway that morning and depending on errands that need to be run as well.
Hoping to gain and provide support and advice for this venture and others to restore at least one to its original glory albeit modernized, (because I have the desire/time/and reasonable means to increase my experience and enjoyment of my projects.
