When I start my truck and put it into drive the buzzer goes off. It's not a beep beep, it's a steady tone. When this happens, I have to shut the truck off and and start it back up, or while driving turn the ignition off then back on, the buzzer turns off and the truck resumes operation. This problem seems to only occur when the temp is ~60°F or lower. No CELs.
I'm trying to figure out why it's buzzing.
can you take a video to record the sound and post it?
maybe put the e-brake on, put it in drive (maybe with a tree in front of you in case the e-brake fails), then look around under the dash (or wherever) for the source.
I get so disgusted with all the beeping and buzzing on my vehicles, can't listen to the radio with the drivers door open, only the passenger door. Older trucks, I just would unplug the buzzing box and throw it in the glove box. Last one, it disabled my interior lights. Can't even find the box in the later vehicles. Would like to find the buzzing beeping box, take it apart and smash the noise makers.
My 2001 v10 has some relays under the dash. They started buzzing and I eventually tracked it down to a bad chassis ground cable on the battery.
I had considered this as a possibility. I do know that I have one ground that runs from the bat to the frame then to the block. When I done the engine swap I had to skip connecting it to the frame to reach the new ground location as the new block does not have a threaded hole in the same spot as the old one.
My other thought was that I never turn the key all the way off so that I never have to use a key because I have a tendency to lock myself out. So I keep the key on a carabiner on my belt loop. So my thought was that sometimes I don't quite turn it back far enough 🤔

I thought about doing this but it's nice to have as it does alert me when my passenger door is open and during the day I have no clue unless it buzzes.
Besides when I first start it, that's the only other time I hear it.
So this morning I had to put the jump box on the truck. Had the battery tested and threw a spare alternator in. Both alternators gave same voltage reading. Using my scanner, I went into the oem dtc section and in there I found 2 dtc's, both for the air bag warning tone, which I assume is the cause of the annoying tone I am hearing. I am going to turn the passenger air bag back on and maybe that problem will stop.
Turns out it was loose ground on the bottom of block causing the low voltage from the alternator.
Thanks everyone!
