Spout wiring

Where does it go? I'm fairly confident there is a short in the wiring to the spout, and rather than pull my intake again to get to the engine harness I'd rather just run new wires and mount the spout in a more accessible spot

It's a 5.0L out of a 96 explorer swapped into an 03 ranger

Are you sure that engine is originally out of a 1996 Explorer? Per the factory service manual, the ignition coils on the 5.0L are directly triggered by the PCM and there is no SPOUT connector like older units where there was a separate ignition control module. Or is it maybe not a SPOUT connector?

according to the ECM its from a 96 explorer, this is one of the perks of buying a vehicle that was swapped before you bought it, the guessing game. but i did talk to the guy who built the truck and it is from a 96 explorer, and it is a spout connector. now wether or not the harness is from a 96 your guess is as good as mine.

i did tryy something new this morning and so far its running better. i dont know what the part is called but its mounted to the coilpack, little black square looking thing with 1 wire going to it, i unplugged it and it seems to be running a whole lot better, so im guessing whatever that thing is might be bad

Any chance you can take a photo of it and post it here? Is it a red/light green wire?

Pretty sweet looking rig, by the way!
