First of all, let me say that this forum ROCKS!!! I had a couple of little problems with my 98 B2500 (check engine light, air bag light, door latch) and did a search for them, and found what I needed right away. A couple of hours, less than $10 in parts, problems solved. Thanks.
Now for a new problem. My air conditioning is acting funny. When I put it on 'max AC', the air comes out of the defrost vents instead of the normal vents. I tried a search on the forum, but I didn't find anything. Has anyone else run into that, and if so, can a wanna-be shade tree mechanic such as myself do anything about it?
The "vent" to which air is routed is controlled by vacume.
I have noticed many times when I "tromp on it" the A/C will redirect out the defroster vents and not come back out the dash vents until the engine winds up, or I back out of it - and I don't have any vacume problems. It is natural to some extent (but annoying).
